If you are going to burn brush or debris on your property, first call the automated burn permit line for Allegan County.

Call on the day you want to burn and the automated service will record your information. This information will be accessed if a fire is reported in your area. A simple call may prevent a full fire response with its associated costs to you.

If the fire department responds to a call of a fire on your property and you have not called for a burn permit, you will be responsible to pay the cost of the fire response.

If you call for a burn permit before you burn, you are not responsible to the pay the cost of a response by the fire department.
